Elizabeth Buell

BUELL, ELIZABETH - Elizabeth "Liz" passed away on June 20, 2013 in hospital after a valiant fight to keep cancer at bay. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 26 years, Rodney Buell of Chester, and daughter Hilary Snell and grandson Ben Corkum of Halifax, son Gregor, brother and sister-in-law Ronald and Edna Fenwick of Sarnia, sister and brother-in-law Margaret (Fenwick) and Robert Nelson of Ottawa, as well as numerous nieces and nephews residing in Ontario and USA. She was pre-deceased by siblings Arlene (Lloyd Holloway) of Perth, Ontario, Harold (Helen Strait) and Kenneth (Ken) (Marilyn Turner) of Moncton, New Brunswick. Liz was born in Harcourt, New Brunswick, the youngest child of Lawrence and Katherine (Kenney) Fenwick. At an early age, she moved with her family to Moncton. After graduating from Moncton high school, she attended Mount Allison University before moving to Halifax where she was employed by Maritime Life, Imperial Oil Limited, and as registrar of the Nova Scotia College of Art. In 1994, Liz and Rodney moved to Chester where they owned and operated the Seaside Shanty Restaurant for a number of years. It was in Chester that Liz began her successful career as a real estate agent with Tradewinds Realty. Liz had a real zest for life and continued to live it to the fullest, until just before her death. Many friends in Chester, Halifax, and elsewhere will be greatly saddened by news of her death. The family would like to thank the Doctors and the staff of South Shore Regional Hospital and Capital Health Halifax for their compassionate care. Donations may be made in Liz's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society of Halifax.
Cremation has taken place. A family celebration of Liz's life will take place in Moncton at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Davis Funeral Home, Chester. Email: gillis@davisfuneralhome.ca
