Smith, Emmerson Ross “Emmy”. Age 76, of Stewiacke, passed away in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, on June 30, 2013, following a brief battle with cancer.
Born in Stewiacke, on August 16, 1936, he was a son of the late Wilfred J. and Jessie (Elliott) Smith.
Surviving are his loving wife, of 49 years, the former Frances Catherine Kaulback; son, Robert Blair Smith, Middle Musquodoboit; sisters, Myrtle Guild, Middle Musquodoboit; Shirley McLellan, Milford; Marilyn Smith, Stewiacke; brothers, Gary (Judy), Stewiacke; Russell (Audree), Milford; Paul (Helen), Bible Hill; sisters-in-law, Judy Smith, East Stewiacke; Melissa Smith, Truro; Muriel Smith, Brookfield.
He was predeceased by brothers, Stanley, Havey, Wilfred, Larry, and Michael.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
At Emmerson’s request, there will no visitation or church service.
A graveside service will be held on July 4, at 11 a.m., in Middle Stewiacke Cemetery with Rev. Larry Harrison officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the Lung Association of Nova Scotia or Canadian Cancer Society.
