Harris Rossiter
ROSSITER, HARRIS O. - 1930 - 2013 - Harris O. Rossiter, 83, of Forest Dale Home and formerly of Germantown passed away on July 2nd at Forest Dale Home with his family by his side. Harris was born in Hopewell Hill on February 10, 1930 the son of the late James and Anna (Doyle) Rossiter. He was a member of the Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Harris worked as a truck driver in his earlier years, he worked at Hotel Beaujesour and also drove school bus for 33 years until he retired. Harris enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He was known for his stories and boy could he get people going, he loved to tease. He enjoyed bingo and playing cards and also had a love of music often getting out the guitar at the kitchen table. He will be missed by his daughters, Theresa Tanner (Jim) of Bass River, NS, Loretta Hawkes (Raymond) of Hillsborough, step-daughter, Marie Dixon (Gene) of Riverside-Albert; sons, Carl "Sam" Rossiter (Debbie) of Lower Cape, Jeff Rossiter (Penny) of Germantown and Randy Rossiter (Diane) of Germantown; his 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; sister, Annie Howey (Tom) of Ontario; brother, Lester Rossiter (Melda) of Riverview; sister-in-law, Bertha Rossiter of Lower Coverdale. He will also be missed by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie (Milton), daughter, Laurie; granddaughter, Heather, step grandson, Jeff; brothers, Duncan, Donahue and Hilyard.
He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. A Prayer Vigil and time of telling stories will be held at the funeral home, Thursday evening at 8:30pm.The Funeral Mass will be held at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church on Friday, July 5th, 2013 at 11:00am Father Phil Mulligan officiating. Following the service the family will be meeting with relatives and friends at the Riverside-Albert Recreation Center for further sharing of memories and for refreshments. Interment will be in the Holy Ghost Cemetery, Hopewell Hill, NB. Donations to the Forest Dale Home, Holy Ghost Cemetery or to the charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated.
