LARSON- Vernon (Curly) age 92 of Admiral, Sask. passed away peacefully on Tuesday June 25, 2013 at the Herbert and District Integrated Health Facility with family by his side. The funeral was held Tuesday July 2, 2013 at the First United Church, Peggy Worrell officiating. The organist was Arlie Neufeld. The interment was held at Memory Gardens Cemetery. He leaves to cherish his wife of 60 years Eunice, his son Warren (Linda) Larson, granddaughter Karen (Devin) Floberg and their children Kaden and Rylee, grandson Brian (Kim) Larson and their children Shayne and Jace. He is survived by two sisters Yvonne Hammond of Medicine Hat, AB and Lorraine (David) Price of Victoria BC, sisters-in-law Lillian Larson of Rosthern, SK, and Vera Yourex of Calgary, AB. Predeceased by his parents Hjalmar and Carrie Larson. Brothers Ernest (Florence) Larson, Arnold (Mary) Larson, Howard Larson, sisters Hazel (Ivar) Klath, Ethel Struck, Lillian Martin, sister-in-law Nesta Eidem, brothers-in-law Glen Yourex, Earl Eidem, and Don Hammond. Pallbearers were Frank Scherr, Darryl Scherr, Dennis Klath, Bruce Yourex, Randy Currence, and Norman Galey. Ushers Roger Duclos, Garry Rettenmier, Melvin Larson, Dale Zacharias. Vernon was born at the family farm and attended school in the Congress District. He worked on farms in the area and in a lumber camp at Cranbrook, BC for five winters. In 1947 he started to farm on his own, farming was one of his greatest joys in life, along with spending time with family and friends. He moved into the Herbert Heritage Manor in May of 2011 and then the Herbert and District Integrated Health Facility where he was cared for by devoted staff members.
