It is with great sadness that we announce that our Mother, Maria Delfina Coelho, passed away peacefully at Royal Inland Hospital on July 4, 2013.

Maria will be deeply missed and forever loved by her children Amancia (Joao), George (Maria), Tony (Cindy), and John (Natalie); her grandchildren Roxanne, Aaron, Jonathan, Sean, Trevor, Jacob, Joshua and Jaden. Also, left to cherish her memory are her four siblings, nieces, nephews and friends.

Maria was predeceased by her young son Jose Antonio Coelho, husband Antonio Coelho and her brother Joao Teixeira.

Maria was born on August 18, 1928 in Sao Miguel, Azores. She immigrated to Canada with her family in August 1964, where she was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. Maria was a kind and generous person who cherished the time spent with family, especially her grandchildren. Maria loved to sew, knit and do many crafts. She was a talented seamstress who enjoyed sewing for her family and friends.

The family extends their sincere thanks and heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Doug Hamilton for his kindness and compassionate care of our Mom over the years. Also, special thanks to Mom's caregivers at Kamloops Seniors Village for their care and support.

Prayers will be recited on Thursday, July 11th, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Cathedral. The Reverend Father Andrew L'Heureux will be celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, July 12th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cathedral. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Should friends desire, donations to the Alzheimer's Society or Heart & Stroke Foundation in memory of Maria D. Coelho would be appreciated.
