BARBARA ELIZABETH BURKE
We, the family of the late Barbara Elizabeth Burke, would like to thank the many people who took the time to share in our sorrow, and to help and support us through this very difficult time. To our special neighbors, friends, and family for their compassion, kindness, and time spent with us, especially those who travelled from away, you will stay in our hearts forever. To all who sent flowers, cards, food, emails, phone calls and monetary gifts, your kindness will not be forgotten. Thank you to all the people who made donations to the BEC Scholarship Fund, BEC Band or any any other charity in Barbara's memory, your generosity was greatly appreciated. To Fr. Ray Huntley, for the beautiful mass celebrating Barbara's life, your words of comfort helped to get us through such a hard day. Thank you to the choir of St. Leonard, and a special thank you to Stephen Muise, Jennifer Sheppard, Laurie Gorman and Richard Burke, for your beautiful music and songs of tribute to Barbara. She would have been so proud. To Jacqueline Poirier and Michael Power, thank you so much for the beautiful readings. To Maureen and Sandy Wilson & family, thank you for taking up the offertory. To the students & staff of BEC, for your honour guard and support. Barbara would have been so proud of the school she loved so much. To the Grads of 2013 and Barbara's special friends, thank you for your love and support. You will remain in our hearts forever.
A very special thank you to Amy and Alyssa Romard for working so hard to keep Barbara's memory alive throughout the prom and graduation. We know Barbara was looking down from heaven and feeling very loved and honored. To the Riverview, Sydney Academy and Glace Bay High Cheerleaders. Thank you for your kindness and proving why Barbara loved this sport so much. Thank you to the Ladies Auxiliary of the KOC for the beautiful lunch following the funeral. To the EMC Staff, Dr. & staff of the NW Emergency Dept., and the Regional Hospital Dr's. and staff from the ER, OR & ICU. There are not enough words to thank you for the care, compassion and courage you showed Barbara and our family. You will never be forgotten. To McLellan Bros. Funeral Home, especiallly John & Lorraine McLellan, and Jackson and Nevin McLellan. Your compassion, professionalism, and kindness helped us to get through the most difficult time we will ever face in our life...Thank you. Barbara was a beautiful, vibrant, caring and phenomenal daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend. She lived every day with such enthusiasm, that she had almost fit a lifetime in her 18 years. Barbara will be remembered and loved for the remainder of our lives, and until we are together again....Luv Ya!!!!!
