(October 2, 1924-July 23, 2013). Passed peacefully away on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 Maria (Snook) Woodland, R.N., a proud graduate of the Salvation Army Grace Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1950. She was predeceased by her husband Wilmore C. Woodland in 1997. Grateful for her love and influence are her children: Glenda Knight, Bruce (Bette), Claude (Laurie), Eula (David Gale), Cheryl, Susan (Peter Collins); grandchildren: Kristopher Knight (Sonya), Kathryn Knight-Hall (Kenneth), Carole Knight, Damon Woodland (Jennifer), Gillian Rollin (Marc), Susan Porter (Shane), Katie and Laura Gale, Steven, Maria and Heather Collins; great-grandchildren: Jacob Knight, Trevor and Elizabeth Rollin and Anastasia and Charlotte Woodland. Also left with loving memories are her siblings: George Snook (Juanita), Jane Wojciehowski, Roy Snook, Bruce Snook (Joan) and her very special sister June Inder (Jim); her brother and sisters-in-law: Bruce and Edith Woodland, Lucy Woodland, Rhoda Reid and Alma Hewlett and many other relatives and close friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road. Visitation Thursday, July 25 at 10 - 12, 2 - 4 ,7 - 9 and Friday, July 26 from 10 - 12. A celebration of her life will take place from the Salvation Army Temple, 101 Torbay Road on Friday, July 26 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Blackmarsh Road. Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of N.L. or the Vera Perlin Society.
