James 'Jim' Pearcey

James passed away at the Welland Hospital at the age of 72 on July 21, 2013 with his family at his side.
He was born and raised in North Sydney, NS. James was the son of the late William and Emily Pearcey (nee Downton) of Newfoundland.
He was predeceased by his son Steven and his granddaughter Terra Lee; his sister Rose and his three brothers, Bill, Joe and Ken.
Jim is survived by his estranged wife Alice Pearcey; his children, Mary Devoe (Elmer), Joey (Irene Zwarych), Patricia Hoeg (Kevin Gallivan), Jeannie (Gilles Hachey), James 'Jimmy' and Shane (Ami). Cherished Poppy Pearcey of 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Survived by his siblings; Lorraine Rogers, Marg Jessome, Jackie Bragg, Kathy Parsons, Bob and David as well as many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. A private family service to celebrate Jim’s life was held at Pleasantview Funeral Home and Cemetery (905-892-1699). Interment to follow in North Sydney at a later date.
