DAVIDSON- Mr. Jack. With sadness we announce the passing of Jack Davidson on July 20, 2013 at the age of ninety-two. Jack was the eldest son of John & Agnes Davidson, and was the fifth of six children. Jack and his siblings, Ann, Janet, Myrtle, Jean, and Angus were raised on a homestead 22 miles southwest of Ponteix, on the NW 31-06-12W3. In 1943, Jack married Lois Orr. From January 1943 to May 1945, Jack was enlisted to the Prince of Wales Rangers in Prince George, British Columbia in an artillery division. Following his discharge, Jack and Lois operated a mixed farm on the Davidson Homestead. Upon the sale of the farm to his eldest son in 1974, Jack and Lois moved to Swift Current where Jack continued working into his 70’s for many companies most notably, McDonald's and JD. Jack lived a rich, full life surrounded by a large, loving family and a great many friends. Jack was predeceased by his parents, John & Agnes Davidson, sisters and brothers-in-law Janet and Irvin Lamb, Myrtle and Wes Baragar, Jean and Raymond Robinson, and brother-in-laws Jim Dinsmore and Vic Robins. He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by his wife of seventy years, Lois, three children Doug (Mary), Jackie (Bob) and Clarke (Sue); seven grandchildren Juanita (Cecil), John and Joni; Stacey and Erin; Dawn and Justin, and great-grandchildren Carter; Alexis and Cain; Kyra; his sister Ann and brother Angus (Marlene); his sisters and brothers in-law, Cecil (Audrey), Joyce (Sid), Madeline (Jerry), Sheila, Marion (Keith), David (Dee), Jean, and many cherished nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Jack was held at Parkside Memorial Funeral Chapel on Thursday, July 25th. In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations may be made in Jack’s name to the Prairie Pioneer Lodge.
