WOOD-Hector, our husband, father, and papa, Hector passed away on July 21st at the age of 66 in Swift Current, SK. Hector was born in Assiniboia, SK on November 25, 1946 to Doug and Phyllis Wood. Hector had two brothers, Doug Jr. (Mac), and Barclay. Hector was predeceased by his parents and one brother, Barclay and is survived by his wife Gerry (Mable), daughters Jackie (Scott) and Jolene (Rex) and his two grandchildren, Dylan and Mackenna. Hector was always involved in sports throughout his life. He played hockey and baseball during his youth and when he didn't play any longer, he coached Jackie in ringette and softball and caddied for Jolene. When the girls were older, Hector continued to be involved in sports, volunteering for the Swift Current Indians and helping to organize their annual Field of Dreams Sportsman's Dinner. When he wasn't volunteering, you could count on Hector to be at the rink cheering on his Broncos. During the summer, he could be found at Mitchell Field watching the Swift Current Indians, golfing at the Chinook or going for a cruise in his '62 Chevy Impala. In addition to sports, Hector had other interests. He and Gerry always had the most immaculate yard in the neighborhood, the shiniest vehicles, and things were always in tiptop shape around their house. Our husband, father and papa will be dearly missed and always remembered.
