Gary grew up and went to school in Swift Current, SK. Early in in his life he was drawn to anything mechanical from watches to trains. Although he worked at many jobs, it was his dream to be a mechanic. He eventually acquired his journeyman certificate while working at ZF Cushings in Cabri, followed by 22 good years at the Co-op service station in Swift Current. To his friends and family he was the man to go to when you needed something fixed. He taught us all that sometimes the best way to fix a problem was with a laugh and a smile. Anyone who knew Gary knew he loved his wife, children and especially his grandchildren. Being reunited with his brothers in later life made Gary very happy and proud. The funeral service was held at Trailview Alliance Church with Pastor Blair Froese officiating on Tuesday, July 30, 2013. The interment was held at Hillcrest Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Saskatchewan Lung Association. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Parkside Memorial Funeral Home, Swift Current, SK.
