MITCHELL, MARION - On Sunday, August 4, 2013, Marion Mitchell of Brown’s Flat, NB and formerly of Fredericton went home to be with her Lord. Her passing occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Lower Queensbury, NB, she was the daughter of the late George Frederick and Martha Amanda (Barr) Cliff. Marion was a resident of the Beulah Camp area at Brown’s Flat, NB for 25 years. Marion was a member of the First Wesleyan Church, Fredericton, for many years and was a Charter Member of Corbett Avenue Wesleyan Church. Marion was a retired registered nurse having graduated from the Moncton City School of Nursing in 1943. Her nursing career extended from Moncton to Fredericton and as far away as Brandon, Manitoba. Marion was well known for her quilting abilities as well as her crafts and gardening. She was devoted to her family. She was the loving wife of the late Millard Mitchell for over 63 years and a much cherished mother to Gail McGeorge (Ken) of Brown’s Flat, Willo Ann Symonds (Rev. John) of Brown’s Flat and Cliff Mitchell of Moncton; devoted grandmother to Scott McGeorge (Alicia), Dacia Jackson (Adrian), Rev. Brock Symonds (Rhonda), Nicole Symonds-White (Rev. Michael), Katy Beth Gildart (Andrew), Matthew Mitchell (Joy), Benjamin Mitchell (Kim), Melissa Clark (Clayton) and Naomi Justason (Michael); great grandchildren, Jordan McGeorge (deceased), Austin M. White, Brooke McGeorge, Jaden Johnson, Erika Pettipas, Jack Symonds, Tessa Symonds, Ethan Johnson, Jackson Mitchell, Connor McGeorge, Trent Jackson, Megan Pettipas, Livia Gildart, Austin W. Mitchell, Lincoln Gildart, Ellie Clarke and Eva Justason. Also survived by her brother Wayne Cliff (Norma) of Fredericton and sisters Inez Cliff of Vancouver, BC and Ardith Clark (Albert) of Fredericton; nieces and nephews. Her parents, her husband Millard J. Mitchell, a brother Edison Cliff and sisters, Glenna Woodworth and Eileen Cliff and great grandson Jordan McGeorge all predeceased her.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Corbett Avenue Wesleyan Church, 53 Corbett Ave., Fredericton on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 from 12 Noon until service time at 2:00 PM. Officiating clergy for the service will be Rev. John Symonds, Rev. Brock Symonds and Rev. Michael White. Interment will be in the Brown’s Flat Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott McGeorge, Brock Symonds, Michael White, Matthew Mitchell, Benjamin Mitchell, Michael Justason, Adrian Jackson and Clayton Clark.
