Dr. Kevin Andrew Coady, 59, a resident of Prattville, Alabama, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 2, 2013. A memorial service was held on Sunday, August 4, 2013, at First United Methodist Church in Prattville with Dr. Robert Couch officiating. Final resting place is Prattville Memorial Chapel and Memory Gardens.
Shaped by the values of his parents, Kevin's powerful ethical compass was leavened by a generous heart, a sharp sense of practicality, an underlying love of people, and a gentle touch.
Dr. Coady was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Adele Coady; first wife, Elizabeth “Liz” Pound Coady.
He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Joyce Kane Coady; four daughters, Bethany Maureen Coady, Kelly Wybenga (Neil) Campbell, Lauren Wybenga (Jeremie) Redden, Renee Wybenga (Dylan) Casteel; two sons, Stephen Andrew Coady, Daniel Mark Coady; one sister, Maureen Adele (Fred Feeney) Coady; three brothers, Michael Allen (Dawna) Coady, Kenneth William (Judie) Coady, Peter Damien (Kathleen) Coady; the Pound family; numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Pallbearers were Michael Coady, Kenneth Coady, Peter Coady, Neil Campbell, Dylan Casteel, and Jeremie Redden. Honorary pallbearers included Michael Grigsby, Ken Benefield, Ray Gilliland, David “Flat” McLeod, and Dave Dageforde.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.
The family would like to acknowledge the special relationships Kevin had with so many people of Charlottetown and throughout Prince Edward Island. They would also like to extend a special thank you to Prattville paramedics and to the staff at Baptist South Hospital for their dedicated and professional treatment of Kevin. Their generous support of his family will not be forgotten.
Kevin was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was taken too soon, but he is not gone from our hearts.
