He also leaves behind five great-grandchildren Madison and Makaela Gallant, Emelia Olsen, Jack and Alex Grant.

He was predeceased by his brother Harvey, his parents Darce and Billie, and his grandson Brennan Comazzetto.

Dad was born April 11, 1928 in High River, Alberta where he attended school until the family relocated to Beiseker, Alberta. Stan worked with his father Darce in the family garage selling machinery, cars as well as becoming an excellent mechanic. He was a perfectionist with his vehicles and he was a devoted "Dodge" man. He met and married his wife Barbara in 1950 and remained in Beiseker until they moved the family to Kamloops in 1964.

Dad was an extremely hard working man and was employed as a truck driver sometimes as an owner/operator as well as working for various companies including Royalite, Gulf Oil, Nu Road Construction, and Gallant Trucking. His real passion was with his family as he took particular pride in his children and grandchildren always encouraging and interested in their achievements. His sense of humour is his legacy as he was always ready to tell a good joke and could have a laugh even during his last hours. Stan was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved to reminisce about the days when he and his buddies would pack up their horses and trek miles over the glaciers into Pinto Lake located in the Rockies. In recent years, Dad loved to start his day watching the "Weather Channel" followed by "Red Green" then a game of crib. He was always up for a game of "Stop the Bus" or "Bid Wist" whenever a challenge was presented. He enjoyed watching old John Wayne movies and never missed a Toronto Blue Jays game even if it meant having to put the card games on hold. He occasionally would slip out to the casino where he would enjoy himself playing a few slots but was always cautious not to donate too much of his hard earned money. He also loved the bird sanctuary he created in his back yard and was quick to scare away anything that might threaten a newly built nest. He could often be found sitting in his back yard enjoying the sounds of the birds and his surroundings.

As Dad requested, a simple Celebration of Life followed by a luncheon will be held for his friends and family at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 10th, 2013 in the hall at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2826 Bank Road.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dad's memory to either the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation, 311 Columbia Street, Kamloops, B.C. V2C 2T1 or the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice Home, 72 Whiteshield Crescent South, Kamloops, B.C. V2E 2S9.
