AMHERST - It is with great sadness the family of Ann (Anna May) Gouchie age 67 of Amherst announce her passing on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, surrounded by her loving family at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan.
Born in Minudie, N.S., she was a daughter of the late Fred and Winnie (MacIver) O’Brien.
Anna May will be remembered as the neighbourhood mom for her kindness and huge heart.
She is survived by six daughters, Jeannie (Dan Harrison) Gouchie, Melinda (Jason) King, Tina (Terry) Perville, Dawn (Jason Rector) Gouchie, Crystal Gouchie and Amanda (Burton Talbot) Gouchie; 17 grandchildren and one great grandson; sister, Eva(Ronald) Dobson; brother, Hughie (Bobbie) O’Brien, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Predeceased by her husband, Carl; son, Carl Jr. (Boo); sisters, Lucy Kaiser and Elvetta Power; brothers, Pat O’Brien and Freddie O’Brien.
Cremation has taken place.
The family will receive visitors Wednesday Aug. 7, 2013, from 7-9 pm at Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906).
A graveside service will take place Thursday August 8, 2013 at 2 pm, in the St. Denis Cemetery, Minudie.
