ZINN: Marie Elizabeth of Swift Current, SK passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Herbert Nursing Home on August 3, 2013 at the age of 97 years. A private family interment was held at Memory Gardens Cemetery on Wednesday, August 14, 2013, with a public reception held at 2:00 p.m. August 14, 2013 from the First United Church Knox Hall. The Eulogy was read by her grandsons Barry Zinn and Michael Horn. Marie is survived by her son Donald; daughter Gail (Harvey) Horn; grandchildren, Barry (Nola) Zinn, Teresa (Jeff) Harold, Michael (Patti) Horn, Denise (Charles) Calvert, Laurie (Lyle) Patzer; 11 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Phyllis, Kay and Etta Robertson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Holly; parents Donald and Myrtle Robertson; brothers Lawrence, Leonard, Orland and Ronald Robertson; daughter-in-law Edith Zinn; and sister-in-law Yvonne Robertson. Marie attended school in Hazlet, SK, and in 1936 married Holly Zinn. She lived most of her life in Hazlet until they moved to Swift Current in 1968. She worked at the Swift Current Nursing Home for 16 years. Marie belonged to the Hazlet United Church and the U.C. L. and was also involved with the Legion. She enjoyed cooking, baking buns and cinnamon buns which were her specialty. She was an avid T.V. fan and the Toronto Blue Jays were her favorite team to watch.
