AKERLEY, AUDREY - The death of Audrey Claire (Smyth) Akerley, wife of The Rev. Canon George Akerley, age 82, of Rothesay and formerly of Hatfield Point, occurred at the Kings Way Care Centre on August 9, 2013. She was born in Detroit, MI, on June 12, 1931, the daughter of the late Bennett and Evelyn (Fraser) Smyth. She is survived by her husband; daughters Margaret (Neil) Akerley of Rothesay, Suzanne (Ed) Valiant of Halifax, Heather (Mike) Cowie of Halifax; son John (Terri-Lynn) Akerley of Saint John; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her son Bruce; sisters Merle and Shirley.
Visiting at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, on Monday from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at 11:00 am from Trinity Anglican Church, Springfield, followed by interment in adjoining cemetery.
