DAVIDSON, BORDEN B. - 1930 - 2013 - With gratitude and sorrow the family announces the death of Borden B. Davidson of Miramichi, NB. Age 83. Born in Tabusintac NB, he was the son of the late John and Annie (Vanadestine) Davidson. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Ella (Clouston) Davidson, three sons, Kenneth (Wanda) of Moncton, Peter (Joyce) of Miramichi, Reid (Cindy) of Riverview, one daughter Phyllis of Whitney, NB, seven grandchildren, Mitchell of Moncton, Katelyn Foran (Jeremy) of Oldfield Road, Kayla McGraw (Kyle) of Derby Jct., Kelsey (Ben) of Miramichi, Craig (Marley) of Fredericton, Meagan and Derek Mullin of Whitney NB, two sisters, Mrs. Kathryn Jacobson of Fredericton and Ola Chamberlain (Fred) of Truro, NS, two sisters-in-law Bernice Davidson of North Tetegouche and Edith Davidson of Bathurst, also several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, sisters, Elspeth Smith, Margaret Branch, Ella Davidson, Edith Cameron, brothers, Harris and Lawrence. Borden obtained his Funeral Director and Embalmer License in 1956 while working at Hogan's Funeral Home in Bathurst. He then became founder and President of Davidson's Funeral Service Ltd. in Miramichi until his retirement. He was a member of St James & St. John United Church, St James & John United Church Choir, member of the Men's choir, member of Masonic Lodge# 17 F & AM, member of Luxor Shriners, Saint John and also a member of Miramichi Shrine Club. Borden was well known for his love of horses and wholehearted devotion to duty and set a fine example for his family.
Mr. Borden B. Davidson will be resting at Davidson's Funeral Home, 597 Old King George Hwy, Miramichi, with visitation on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. The Funeral Service will be held Thursday evening, August 15 at 6 p.m. at St. James & St. John United Church, with Reverend John Fraser officiating. Burial will follow in Miramichi Cemetery. In memory of Borden donations made to Miramichi Shriners or New Brunswick Extra Mural would be appreciated. Arrangements are in care of Davidson's Funeral Home (622-7464)
