Passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side, at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s, N.L. on Monday, Aug. 12, 2013.
Born in Sydney, N.S., she was the daughter of the Late Ernest and Catherine (nee Ryan) Boutilier.
Joan was predeceased by her husband, Percival A. Hunt and her sister, Phyllis.
She is survived by her five daughters, Phyllis Hunt (John Dogherty), Vancouver, B.C., Catherine Whalen (Gary), Shirley Parsons, both of Mount Pearl, N.L., Tish Hunt (Gord Williams), Brooklin, Ont., and Susan Hunt (Karl Misik), St. Philip’s, N.L. Also surviving are sisters. Myrna Seward (Frank), Glace Bay, N.S., and Connie Young (James), Sydney, N.S.; brother, Ernest Boutilier (Adine), Sackville, N.S.; and sister-in-law, Audrey Sharpe, Sydney, N.S. Grandma Hunt will be lovingly remembered by her 11 grandchildren, Patrick and Elizabeth Dogherty, Liam, Joshua, Emily (Jon Bulatovic) and Ellen Parsons, Bradley and Mitchell Williams, Matthew, Christopher and Jennifer Gardner; one great-grandchild, Olivia Bulatovic; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral service in Nova Scotia will be held at Lady Fatima Church, Cape Breton, on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, at 11 a.m. with interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
No flowers by request. Donations in Joan’s memory may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, Canada.
