
Welland "Kelly" Coulter
COULTER, WELLAND “KELLY” H. - Welland “Kelly” H. Coulter, 91, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 15, 2013. Born in Port Arthur, ON, he was the son of the late Charles and Gladys (Holmes) Coulter. Kelly and the family moved on Moncton in 1956 when he began his career with Sumner Tire & Automotive. He retired in 1980 as President of the company. He was an avid reader, loved sports and travelling and keenly followed politics. In 1957 he assisted in establishing the Moncton Minor Football League and was also a life member of the Moncton Elks Club. Kelly enjoyed 45 summers at his cottage in Main River, Kent Co. and many winters at the St. James Condo in Florida. He was happiest with Doreen at his side, surrounded by his daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Kelly will be sadly missed by his wife of 67 years, Doreen (Miller) Coulter; loving daughters, Patricia LeBlanc (Glenn) and Janet Sanford (John), both of Moncton; cherished grandchildren, Andrew LeBlanc (Sarah) of Halifax, NS, Gillian LeBlanc-Brown (Jeff), of Halifax, NS, Scott LeBlanc of Toronto, ON and Leah Sanford (Joel) of Halifax, NS; precious great grandchildren, Hudson and Vincent Brown; several nieces and nephews. Kelly was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, Kelly was predeceased by two sisters, Alicia Coulter and Jane Post. The family expresses heartfelt thanks to Dr. Pat Phelan and the extramural team (Driscoll Unit), especially Tanya Lavigne. Also to Maria Ledezma and Heather Lutes for their loving care.
Kelly is resting at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995), with no visitation hours by personal request. A remembrance of Kelly’s life will be held at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Winston Parks officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service.
