
Pauline Winnifred Smith
Smith, Pauline Winnifred 93, Truro, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013 in the Mira Long Term Care Centre, Truro. Born in Truro, she was the daughter of the late Muir J. and Winnifred (Dover) MacDonald. Pauline was a former member of St. Andrew’s United Church, Truro. She loved all sports and was very active in curling and golf. . Her whole life centered on her family which she loved deeply.
She is survived by sons Robert Lyle Smith (Joanne) of North Salem, Stephen Muir Smith (Joanne) of Wasaga Beach, ON; grandchildren, Debbie (Jack), Jamie, LauraLee (Eric), Jeremy (Donna), Michael; great-grandchildren Emily, Julia, Parker; sister Kathryn Upham of Saskatoon; daughter-in-law Lynn Smith of North Salem; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Gerald Merton Smith; son Kenneth; granddaughter Jessica.
No visitation by family request. Arrangements are under the direction of Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. A graveside service will take place on Monday, Aug. 19th at 11 am in the Robie Street Cemetery, 125 Robie Street, Truro with Rev. Sue King-Darby officiating. Donations in Pauline’s memory may be made to the Recreational Department of The Mira or to the Alzheimer’s Society.
