Farquhar, Ronald Gordon - 85 yrs., of Dartmouth, passed away Tuesday August 14, 2013 at Ocean View Nursing Home, Eastern Passage. Born in Summerville, Queens Co., in 1927, he was a son of the late, Gordon and Helen (Adams) Farquhar. Ronald retired from the Air Force in 1977 with the rank of Sergeant. He went on to work as a Computer Technician with NB Tel Data for several years. Ronald was a long-time member of the City of Lakes Barbershop Chorus in Dartmouth. N.S. He played many musical instruments during his life, the guitar, mandolin and happiest when he was playing music and singing. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by son, Wayne (Heather), Saint John, NB; daughter, Sherry (Kenny Fudge) Warren, Shelburne; brother, Eugene Farquhar, Liverpool; grandchildren, Joseph, Trevor and Tiffany; great grandchildren, Alex and Jacob; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Ron was predeceased by his wife, Joan Farquhar; brother, Donald Farquhar, Clyde Farquhar; sister, Muriel Davidson. A funeral service followed by a reception will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday August 17th at Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. Reverend James Haughn officiating. Interment will follow in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to a charity of choice.
