Gordon “Gordie” Joseph Graham, age 93, of Three Mile Plains, Hants County, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 16, 2013, in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 26, 1920, in Windsor, Hants County, Nova Scotia, Gordon was the last living member of his immediate family, and was the son of the late William and Nora (Diagle) Graham. Gordie was employed at the Nova Scotia Textiles, Windsor, for a number of years. He was a Veteran Fire Fighter and a dedicated member of the Windsor Volunteer Fire Department for 29 years, being the third generation of his family who served. He enjoyed playing softball and hockey in his younger years, and he also loved camping and Bluegrass music. He was always eager to lend a helping hand when needed and loved and respected his family. He was a quiet man, but had a keen sense of humor enjoyed by his close friends. Gordon is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, the former Priscilla J. Lunn; step son, Jerry (Chris) Hunter, Three Mile Plains; sister-in-law, Patricia Graham, Sarnia, Ontario; several nieces and nephews. Gordie was dearly loved by his wife Priscilla, and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Besides his parents, William and Nora (Diagle) Graham; he was predeceased by brothers, William (Maude) Graham; Edward (Florence) Graham; John “Jack” Graham; sisters, Elizabeth (Ralph) Gould; Nora (Rex) Peach; Margaret (Wesley) Barker. Special thanks to Dr. Enright, the VON Nurses, and the caring staff of Hants Community Hospital for the special care they provided for Gordon. Visitation was 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor. Funeral service was 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2013, in St. Thomas Anglican Church, Highway 1, Three Mile Plains. The Rev. Tom Henderson officiated, followed by a reception in the church hall. Interment was in St. John’s R.C. Parish Cemetery, Wiley Ave., Windsor. Donations in memory of Gordon were requested to be made to V.O.N.
