Marilyn Morrell

Morrell, Marilyn Heather Age 72, Brookfield, passed away peacefully, in Elk Court, Brookfield, on August 26, 2013.
Born in Truro, she was a daughter of Hazel (Crockett) Dickey, Townsview Estates, Truro, and the late Stanley Dickey.
Marilyn was a telephone operator in Truro and British Columbia for many years. An animal lover since birth, she raised horses, cattle, and many purebred champion dogs. She operated Okiedokie Kennels in Middle Stewiacke for many years.
Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband, of 51 years, Ron; sons, James “Jamie” (Karen) Morrell, Truro; John (Lorna) Thompson, Coquitlam, British Columbia; daughter, Ronalda “Roni” Girello, Federal Way, Washington; grandchildren, Colton, Truro; Jeff and Chris, Coquitlam; Elisha, Joshua, Rachel, Sara, Noah, Washington; brother, Mervin (Donna), Hilden; stepchildren, Gary (Helen) Morrell, Brookfield; Carl McGillivary, Truro; Heather (Tommy) Loughead, Bible Hill; five great-grandchildren; special aunt, Geraldine “Geri” Burrows, Brookfield; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her father, she was predeceased by uncles, Victor Burrows, and Bernie (Joyce) Crockett.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be Wednesday, 7-9 p.m., and funeral service will be Thursday, at 2 p.m., both in Middle Stewiacke United Church, Rev. Larry Harrison officiating. Burial to follow in Middle Stewiacke Cemetery.
Family flowers only.
Memorial donations may be made to a local SPCA or a charity of choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
