FLEET, HATZEL SHERMAN - (1926 - 2013) - Mr. Hatzel S. Fleet, 87, of North Head and formally of Castalia, Grand Manan Island passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the Grand Manan Nursing Home. Hatzel worked hard on the farm all his life, plowing, haying, tending the animals and doing chores. He loved visiting his neighbors and was often seen driving his tractor down to Castalia. Family gatherings were a favorite for him; he enjoyed being around the children, trips to Beulah and Kings Landing with his family. He was the son of the late Caleb and Faye (Locke) Fleet of Grand Manan. Also he is survived by one brother Arthur (Marion) Fleet, of Grand Harbour also many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he is predeceased by an infant sister Helena, and three brothers, Delbert, Bedford and Harvey.
There will be a funeral service for Hatzel on Saturday, August 31, 2013 from The North Head Baptist Church at 1:30 pm. Interment will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery. Hazel’s family has requested that donations may be made to the Grand Manan Nursing Home Foundation.
