Passed peacefully away at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor on August 27, 2013, after a long and courageous battle against COPD, Mr. Thomas William Simms, age 85. Predeceased by his loving and devoted wife, Hazel (1994) and his brother, Chesley (2007). He leaves behind with loving and precious memories his daughter, Janet Toope (Terry) and his son, Ronnie; his sisters-in-law, Ada Simms (Port aux Basques) and Mary (John) Wells (Harbour Breton); nieces and nephews, Bob (Gertie) Simms, Garf (Joan) Simms, Mary (Max Keeping), Doug (Audrey) Wells, Hannah (Daron Lilly) and Gary (Trudy) Wells; and a large circle of extended family and friends, especially step-brother, Jacob (Blanche) Simms.

Funeral service was held on Saturday, August 31at 2:00 p.m. from St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church with Rev. Juanita Freeman officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Harbour Breton.

Flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the S.P.C.A or the Newfoundland and Labrador Lung Association.
