Janina Wesenhagen - Our beloved friend died on August 18th in Annapolis Royal County, NS, bringing to a close an amazing 16 month journey with pancreatic cancer. Janina was born in New Orleans in 1950 and throughout her 63 years traveled, explored and sought community in many places, including Montreal, Toronto, Santa Fe, the island of Naxos and Potamia in Greece. A free, curious, resourceful and roaming spirit, she found her true home in Annapolis Royal in 2011. There she was surrounded by and held in loving community. As an artist, dancer, painter, actor, story teller and true friend she shared her many gifts and insights with wisdom and honesty. She travelled the cancer journey with hope and integrity and she died in the warm embrace of friends and loved ones. A Celebration of her LIFE will be held on Saturday, September 21st, from 5 to 10 pm at ARTsPLACE, 396 St. George Street, Annapolis Royal.
