It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jean Eldridge on Sept. 7, 2013, at New Waterford Consolidated Hospital with her loving family by her side.
Born in Scotchtown, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Jeannie (Lotz) Deruelle.
Jean was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, her children and family came first before anyone or anybody. As they meant everything to her, being a loving mother and wife was easy for Jean. She was an avid hockey fan, and never missed her grandchildren’s hockey games. She also attended all of the Screaming Eagles hockey games. She loved to laugh, dance and rarely missed a Mt. Carmel dance. She was kind to everyone. Jean will be forever missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She is survived by her best friend and loving husband, Melvin Eldridge; sons, Sheldon (Dorothy) his partner Melanie, Terry (Patricia), Scotchtown; daughters, Sherry (Danny) Lund, Dutch Brook, Valerie, Scotchtown; brother, Arnold (Velma), New Victoria; grandchildren, Kyle, Kayla, Craig, Tyler, Andrew, Michael, Ryan, Paul and great-grandchildren, Lucas, Nash, Hunter.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Melvina and Amelia and her brother, Paul.
A mass to celebrate Jean’s life will be held Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at 10 a.m in the Parish of Saint Leonard, Mount Carmel Avenue with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Burial will be held in Union Grove Cemetery, beside her parents and followed by a luncheon at the Parish Hall, Convent Street. All are welcome.
