Mel Laybolt, of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 6, 2013 at the age of 66 years, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Mel was born in West St. Peters, P.E.I., and lived most of his life in Charlottetown before moving to Thompson, MB, in 1974, he later moved to Calgary, AB, in 1997.
Mel worked as a caregiver for the Sharp Foundation for the last 13 years, and they were able to help him through this difficult time.
Mel is survived by his three sons, Todd, Glenn (Kim) and Lyle (Janet); six grandchildren, Dallas, Carter, Bradley, Kelly, Dylan and Curtis; three sisters, Carolyn, Helen (Jimmy), Sheila (Brenda); three brothers, Mike, James (Linda) and Anthony; and 19 nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Edna (nee Kelly); his parents, Sheldon and Alice; his brother, Willard (Linda); and his sisters, Gladys (Danny) and Mary. He was also predeceased by his brother-in-law, Wayne.
