Passed peacefully away on September 9th, 2013 Wallace Janes at the age of 88. Predeceased by his parents: George and Maude (Brown) Janes, brother, Ken (Ruth) Janes, sisters: Ermine (Will) Smith, Nita Janes, Gwen (Wilson) Hutchings, Una (Eric) Chipman, Olga Adams, and Sylvia (John) Emberly, Father and Mother-in-law, Wilson and Mary (Meade) Warren and brother-in-law, Charles Warren. Leaving to mourn his wife of 64 years, Frances (nee Warren), sons: Wallace and Warren and daughter Beverly, granddaughter Wendy (Justin). Leaving also in-laws: George Adams, Sarah Warren, John Robert Warren, Wilson Warren, and Betty (Neil) MacDonald as well as many nephews, nieces, friends and former colleagues. The family is truly grateful for the superb care provided by the Health Care system over the years, especially Dr.’s Furey and Melvin for his cardiac care, Dr. Duffy for his cancer care and family physician Dr. Furlong. Your care has been world class. To the staff of East 2A at the Waterford Hospital, professionalism is not an ideal but is part and parcel of your everyday practice. Your caring ways will be forever treasured. To the staff of St. Patrick’s Mercy Home, and especially 3 South, you cared for him during his short stay as only St. Pat’s can. Thank you all. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Tuesday from 7 - 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, September 12th, 2013 from Carnell Memorial Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.
