Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre surrounded by her loving family on Monday, September 9, 2013 after a courageous 19 month battle with cancer, Sharon Ann Aflague, aged 63 years. Predeceased by her first husband Joseph Mulrooney, brothers Edward and Michael, parents Art and Kay Hurley and sister Mary Dopler. Left with many fond memories are her son Joseph Mulrooney (Kim), California; daughter Katona Aflague, North Carolina; brothers: Pat (Barb), Brian, Terry (Roxanne), Bill (Carol), Sean (Jennie), Des (Sandra), Art (Karen) and sisters: Maureen Murphy, Placentia, Sheelah McArthur (Bob), Florida, Brenda (Bob), Winnipeg and Juanita (John); grandchildren: Richard and Ryean Hanks, Brent Mulrooney and Kyjeric Nicholson, California, also many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends in Newfoundland and the US. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, Thursday, September 12, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church on Friday, September 13, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. At Sharon’s request cremation will take place with private interment at a later date. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Dr. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre. Rest in peace Sharon.
