Rosalind S. Scholz

Passed away peacefully after a brief but courageous battle with illness at the age of 73, Rosalind Scholz. Born in Portugal Cove, NL and predeceased by her mother, Jessie Parsons (nee Hibbs), stepfather Jesse Parsons, and father George Somerton. Left to mourn with many fond and loving memories, her loving husband of 49 years Fred Scholz, her two sons: Kurt (Antonia) of Halifax and Mark (Joyce LaBriola) of Edmonton. She also leaves two adoring grandchildren: Kate and Tina Scholz, her sister-in-law Waltrout von Essen (Died) and family in Germany, special cousins: Tasker Hibbs (Cede), Gloria Hibbs, Donna Forward, Sherry Greeley (Junior), Wade Hibbs (Barb), Lorna Peddle (Pat), her uncle Tasker Hibbs, Sr., Dianne Somerton Caines (Brian), Fred Somerton (Brenda), Hubert Hibbs (Marie), Clarence Hibbs (Geraldine), as well as a large circle of family and friends. Family wishes to thank the staff of the ICU and CCU at the Health Sciences Centre, as well as the staff at the Waterford Dialysis Unit, for their kindness and compassionate care. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, Thursday, September 12 from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral service to take place at St. Lawrence Anglican Church in Portugal Cove-St. Philips on Friday, September 13 at 2:00 p.m. Flowers gratefully accepted or a donation in Rosalind’s memory may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association (www.cmhanl.ca).
