BERNEICE MURIEL CROSBY

BERNEICE MURIEL CROSBY

February 22, 1932 – August 1, 2013
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear mother, Muriel Crosby.
Mom lived most of her life in Pender Harbour. She spent her younger married life raising seven children. She did, however, manage to work also! She boat built and fished with dad, and also worked for the Egmont Fish Plant. She was an active member of the Pender Harbour Legion Auxiliary Branch. She spent timeless hours in a supportive role to the Pender Harbour Lions Club.
In her later years she and dad spent many happy times travelling. The especially enjoyed going to Hawaii. After dad passed she spent many hours walking the sea walk in Davis Bay which she loved. She also loved spending time with family and friends and was an unrelenting fan of the Vancouver Canucks.
Mom was predeceased by her husband Fred and daughter Maureen. She leaves behind Brenda (Gary), June (Chris), Doug, Stephen (Barbara), Dean and Sandra (Mike); nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored.
The family would like to acknowledge the people who were so involved in the months prior to mom passing:
Auntie Gladys (her beloved sister) and her daughters for their endless support... love you all!! To Ann and Zoe Quinn for your beautiful prayer and a special thank you for the song you sang Ann to send mom on her journey. Thank you to Dr. Myhill-Jones and the amazing staff at Totem Lodge for the exemplary care you gave our mom.
Your love for your family will always be remembered, Mom. You passed on your legacy in so many ways:
- you always listened and quietly made suggestions, without judgment
- you encouraged us when we were down
- you always put us first and took what was left over
- you made the best pie crust ever and shared the secret only months before you passed
- most of all, you loved us unconditionally
We will sure miss you Mom!
