GAUTREAU, EDOUARD - Edouard Gautreau, 87, of Providence St. Shediac, passed away on Saturday, September 21st, 2013, surrounded by his family, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre. Born December 19th, 1925 in Shediac, he was the son of the late Albert and Régina (Arsenault) Gautreau. Before his retirement, he was a mechanic for 38 years. with National Sea Products formerly known as Paturel Seafood. He loved being with his family, playing cards, going out for a good meal, gardening and teasing his grandchildren and great grandchildren who referred to him as “pépère ZOOM ZOOM”. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 63 years: Lota (Cormier) Gautreau; two daughters: Denise (Eloi) Lirette of Grand-Barachois, Joanne (Bobby) Foster of Shediac; three son’s: Jean (Denise), Frank and Paul (Charline) all of Shediac; one sister: Yvonne (Joseph) Murray of Fredericton; eight grandchildren: Serge, Paula, Renée, Yves, Lynne, Nadine, David and Chris; 15 great-grandchildren: Nicolas, Monika, Amelie, Isabelle, Marco, Nathaniel, Arielle, Jasmine, Pano, Max, Marie-France, Mylène, Sophie, Gino and Simon as well as several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a grand-daughter: Janelle Gautreau (1993); one sister: Marceline Leger (2003); two brothers: Robert (1985) and Gérard (1994).
The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral Center, 396, Main Street, Shediac (532-3297) on Tuesday, September 24th from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, September 25th from 9:30 a.m. until time of departure. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Joseph R.C. Church, Shediac, on Wednesday, September 25th, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
