FOUGERE, JOSEPH ALEXANDRE (ALEX)
Fougere, Joseph Alexandre (Alex), 75, Cheticamp, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 21, 2013 in the Sacred Heart Community Health Centre after a brief, but very hard fought, battle with cancer. Born in Arichat, Alex was the son of the late Godfrey and Anita (Goyetche) Fougere. He is survived by his wife Lucille (Aucoin); son, Troy (Kathy); daughters, Brenda (Billy) and Norma (Jamie), his cherished grandchildren: Alex, Matthieu, Sarah, Jacob, and Remi; brother, Robert (Anne) Fougere; sisters, Shirley (Eldon) George and Leona (the late Amos) David. Besides his parents, Alex was predeceased by his brother, Bishop Emeritus of Charlottetown Joseph Vernon Fougere. Alex will always be remembered for his lifelong devotion to his work, his love of and pride in his family, his passion for his gardens, and his faith in the Toronto Maple Leafs. Visitation will take place on Monday, September 23 from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Cheticamp Funeral Home. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Sacred Heart Community Health Centre, or a charity of choice.
