Doris Marion Crawford

CRAWFORD, DORIS MARION - It is with great sadness that we announce the death of DORIS MARION CRAWFORD (nee PROSSER) on September 23, 2013 in the company of her daughters at St. Mary's of the Lake Hospital, after a battle with leukemia. Doris was born January 6, 1931 in Pleasant Vale, New Brunswick to James "Ralph" and Bessie Prosser. She was the youngest of 11 children. After her schooling she moved to Kingston, Ontario where she met and married Malcolm David Crawford (1995). The couple had four children. Doris was a long time member of Queen Street United Church (now Crossroads) and served on many church groups. Doris finished her working career as a union rep for OPSEU. In later life she was the companion to her beloved Harry Beroff (2008). She was sister-in-law to Stuart and Mary Crawford of Kingston. Doris is survived by her brother, Ralph Prosser of Riverview, New Brunswick, 4 children - Strath (Mandie) Crawford, Karen (Tim Elliott), Ann (Robert Lablans) and Lisa Crawford (Paul Brooker), 8 grand children, 6 great grand children, many nieces and nephews and their families. Doris loved her family, enjoyed the company of friends, her pets and her religion. She will be forever in our thoughts. A special thanks to Dr. Stewart and the many staff and volunteers of 2 South Saint Mary's of the Lake Hospital, you helped make her last days a pleasant one.
A celebration of Doris's life will be held October 10, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Crossroads United Church at 690 Sir John A. MacDonald Blvd, Kingston, ON.
