Born in Winterton, NL December 7, 1935. Passed in Stephenville, NL, September 15, 2013. It is with deep and profound sadness that the family of William (Billy) French announce his peaceful passing, surrounded by the love of his family, on Sunday, September 15, 2013, after a brief but incredibly brave battle with cancer. Predeceased by his dear mother, Emily French, and his two sons Robert (Bobby) and Richard (Ricky), whose loving memories he held so very close to his heart. William is survived by his beloved wife Norma and his adoring family: daughters Anita (Gerard) Pomeroy of Stephenville, Elaine (Keith) Layden of Corner Brook, Patty (Glenn) LeRoy of Lloydminister, AB; son Jamey (Jeanette) of Corner Brook; step-son Kevin Christian (Ruby); and sister Anita (James) Mahoney of St. John’s. Also left to mourn are his nine cherished grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral services have taken place.
