Ed Harrison, beloved husband of Phyllis, passed away peacefully on September 24th just shy of his 101st birthday at the Bethany Care Center in Calgary.
Ed was born in Dahinda, SK and later farmed in Crane Valley. In 1954 Ed and Millie and their family moved to Moose Jaw where Ed was employed at the Moose Jaw airport for several years. In 1961 Ed was offered a job in Calgary with Alberta Gas Trunk Line, now known as Trans Canada Pipelines and he continued to work there until his retirement. Ed was always busy with his two daughters and their children but did take time out to be in a movie called Finders Keepers and volunteer at the Olympics in 1988. His first wife Millie passed away in 1999 after 65 years of marriage. In 2003, at the age of 90 he found happiness again when he married Phyllis McNeill.
Ed is also survived by his daughter Pat (Larry)Letourneau; grandchildren Scott (Tara) Gray-Owen, Sean (Dubravka) Gray-Owen, Colleen (John) Sprogis and Kevin (Karen) Cork, Kate Cork and Carolyn Cork; as well as great grandchildren Griffin, Ethan, Aidan, Trinity, Jaxon, Cole and Ava. Ed is also survived by Phyllis' and her children Patti, Joyce, Rob (Consuelo), Kathy (Brian) and John (Joan); along with their children and grandchildren. Ed was also predeceased by his daughter Joan Cork-Crites in 1999. The family would like to thank Dr. Patrick Lai and the Bethany Care Staff for their many years of caring for Ed.
