PORT CHARLOTTE, Florida – Mary Philomen Fields (nee Van Larken) passed away suddenly on September 8, 2013 in Port Charlotte, Florida.
More often called Phyl by her many friends, she was a graduate of Stellarton  High, and a long time member of Sharon United Church.
She is survived by her husband Neil and her son David.
She lived in Montreal, then followed her husband to the USA, living in Connecticut and later lived in California, Illinois, New York and New Jersey, retiring finally to Florida. She was an avid orchid grower, played the organ and was an accomplished calligrapher. She will be missed by her many friends in Florida and Nova Scotia.
There will be a private memorial. She wished to be cremated and her ashes scattered in the Gulf of Mexico.
