BERNSTEIN, MORTIMER LEW - On Saturday, September 28, 2013 at North York General Hospital in Toronto. Mortimer Bernstein beloved father and father-in-law of Janie and David, Eric, Stacey and Russell. Devoted brother and brother-in-law of Erminie and the late Edgar Cohen. Proud Papa Mort to Ari and Yafa. Cherished uncle to his nieces and nephews. Morty was a dear friend to many who will remember his warmth, caring and larger-than-life personality. Always with a story to tell, a sincere interest in all, and pride in his family, near and far. Mort leaves behind wonderful memories of the “early days” in Saint John and joyful summers spent in Pamdenac where life-long friendships and memories were created and nurtured. Mort was the son of the late Mitchell S. and Clara Goldfeather Bernstein of Saint John, NB.
A graveside service was held at Pardes Shalom Cemetery in the Temple Sinai section on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 1:00 pm. Shiva will be observed at 97 Hillsdale Avenue West, Toronto, Ontario, M5P 1G4.
