SKINNER, Louise Yvonne – age 79, King Street, Yarmouth, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born March 2, 1934 in Wedgeport, she was a daughter of the late Eli and Chantal (LeBlanc) Bourque. Louise was a devout Roman Catholic and was a member of the Catholic Women’s League. She had a concern for those less fortunate than her, as evidenced in the various charitable organizations she supported. She was a gifted seamstress and a proud homemaker. Surviving are her sons, Glen Skinner, Dartmouth and Brian Skinner (Tracey Longley), along with their son, Peter, all of Halifax. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Bruce G. Skinner and a daughter Susan A. Skinner. Visitation took place from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, October 4 at H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. The funeral mass was celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 5 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Amirault’s Hill, Father Maurice LeBlanc, c.j.m., officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation.
