Michael (Mike) C. Nurse, M.D. passed peacefully away on October 1, 2013, at the age of 71 years, following a terminal illness which he faced with grace and dignity. Predeceased by his parents Dick and Margaret (nee Kennedy) and his sister Irene Neville. Leaving to mourn his wife and angel Carm (nee Hickey); daughter Suzanne (Mark Hawryluck); son Michael (Krista, nee Walsh) and treasured grandchildren: Ben, Jenna, Megan, Katherine and Caroline. Also left to mourn his sister Margaret Meaney (Ray); sisters-in-law: Rose Barrett (Mike) and Judy Earle (Bill), and brother-in-law Martin Hickey (Mary Lou). Also left to mourn nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and close friends and colleagues. The family would like to thank Drs. K. and V. Patel, Dr. Siddiqui, and the nurses and staff at the Cancer Clinic for their excellent care, support and the gift of hope; the staff in the Emergency Department as well as the nurses and physicians on 4NA at the Health Sciences Centre for their kindness and compassion. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road. In keeping with Mike’s wishes, a private family visitation and funeral has taken place.
