CLARK, JOHN McGEORGE - 86, Bayhead, Colchester County - With great sadness we announce the passing of our kind and caring father and grandfather after a brief illness on October 6, 2013 at the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche. Born in Tatamagouche, Jack was born June 26, 1927, the son of John and Edna (Bonnyman) Clark. Raised in Sackville, N.B., he attended Mount Allison University before beginning his career in the field of heating and air conditioning. Jack was employed by the Enterprise Foundry in Sackville, N.B., Irving Oil, Lennox and E&R Ltd., in Moncton, N.B. While working in Saint John, N.B., he met and married the late Ruth Anne Ruff. After raising their four children in Riverview N.B. they retired to Bayhead, N.S. in 1988. Jack was an avid reader and boater who loved spending time with his grandchildren. He traveled extensively throughout the Atlantic Provinces for both work and pleasure. Jack never stopped learning. At age 70 he successfully attained his private pilot’s license. His wit, humour and story-telling will be greatly missed. Jack is survived by his children, David Clark (Caroline Ryan), Toronto; Mary Clark-Touesnard (Peter Touesnard), Bedford/Denver; John Clark (Elizabeth Brideau-Clark), Blockhouse; Virginia Clark-Druhan (Gerard Druhan), Dartmouth; grandchildren, Jena Clark (Sam Baida), Australia; Madeline, Ethan, Alex, David, Allison, Gavin and Gillian. Also, he is survived by long-time friend Dr. Robert Parkin, New York.
Visitation will be held 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2013 in Coulter’s Funeral Home, 48 Riverside Drive, Tatamagouche (657-3288). The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 10 in Sharon United Church, Tatamagouche N.S., Rev. Penny Nelson officiating. Reception to follow. Interment to be held later in Lockerby Memorial Cemetery, Tatamagouche. A special thanks to Dr. Moss and the wonderful nursing staff at Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the Creamery Square Archives or The Jack Project, a project dear to him which promotes mental health and wellness for youth in Canada (www.thejackproject.org).
