Annie Patricia Chitty, 77 years of age, of Amherst passed away on Friday, October 4, 2013, at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre after a brief battle with cancer, which she endured with a quiet grace and dignity. Born in Perth N.B. she was a daughter of the late Hubert Lovely & Patricia (Canam) Lovely.
Annie and her husband, David, moved to Amherst in 1968. Annie worked for several years for Northern Telecom while raising a family of six children, all the while keeping a beautiful home and cooking wonderful meals. After her family was raised she then had the time to devote to her passion for quilting, some of which, will be donated to the Canadian Red Cross & the Cumberland Regional Health Care Foundation Auxiliary in her memory.
Annie will be sadly missed by her children, daughters, Patricia Comeau of Northport, NS, Katherine Burgess (Warren) of Northport, NS, Brenda (David Welsh) of Bridgewater, NS, Angela Yarmuch (Greg) of Cold Lake AB; sons, David of Amherst, Steven of Rome,NY; sisters, Mary Lennox of Kitchner, ON, Charlotte Southwell of Fredericton, NB, Barb Green of Upper Kingslear , NB, Joyce Chase of Bristol, NB; seventeen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, David, son in law Larry Comeau, brother, William Lovely.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Furlong-Jones Funeral, 70 Church St., Amherst , N.S. (667-8777). Private family memorial to be held at a later date.
No flowers by request. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice.
