1918 - 2013
Irène Alma Malenfant, 95, of Foyer Saint Thomas, Memramcook, formerly of Dorchester, NB, passed away on Thursday, October 10th, 2013, at her residence.
Born in Sunny Brae, NB, she was the daughter of the late Mathias and the late Osithe (née: Doiron) Savoie.
Mrs. Malenfant was secretary for the CWL and a member of the church choir at St. Edward’s Roman Catholic Church in Dorchester.
She is survived by three daughters: Rachel Malenfant of Sydney Mines, NS, Simonne Malenfant-Edgett of Dorchester and Yolande (Jean) Léger of Memramcook; two sons: Roger (Denise) of Princeton Jctn, NJ and Eric (Helga) of Waterloo, ON; one son-in-law, Elden Cormier of Dorchester; 10 grandchildren: Justin, Shannon, Benjamin, Erica, Serge, Isabel, Ryan, Marc, Josée-Claire and Julien; 5 great grandchildren: Raine, Laura, Céleste, Chase and Claire, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband George in 1986; two daughters: Aline and Anna; six sisters: Élise, Marie, Sr. Lodianne, Louise, Agnès and Yvonne and also by four brothers: Gérard, Albénie “Benny”, Michel and Nazaire.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB, (857-1901) on Monday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and also on Tuesday from noon until time of departure.
Funeral mass will be celebrated from Sainte-Thérèse Roman Catholic Church, Dieppe, NB on Tuesday, October 15th, 2013 at 1 pm.
Interment at Notre-Dame-du-Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe, NB.
