MILLER, DWIGHT BERNARD -
Dwight Miller of Riverview passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 in Miramichi. Born in Truro, NS, he was the son of Franklin “Bucky” and Veronica (Dupuis) Miller.
Dwight loved life, family and friends. Whether travelling to Italy or Hawaii on a romantic get-a-way with Rozy, (where he developed his love of colorful shirts) or spending time in Alberta or Australia, his family was always close by. His devotion and dedication to family and community was also evident from his participation in coaching and managing the many sports his children thrived in, to the daily routine of feeding the “mini zoo” of pets the kids loved so much. Fishing was his passion, from the family camp on the Miramichi, to his favorite lake in Northern Nova Scotia, he was truly happy when camping and fishing with friends. Dwight’s professional career spanned many years in Air traffic Control culminating as an IFR Program Specialist. He was a coach, a mentor and a friend to many.
Alongside his parents, Dwight will be deeply missed by his loving wife Rosalind “Rozy” (Stewart), daughter Erika, sons Colin and Stewart, all of Riverview; brothers Derek (Susan) of Sydney, Australia; Dale (Lanny, Meghan, Matthew) of Halifax; and Darren (Stacey, Caitlin) of Water Valley, Alberta.
The family will be receiving friends and relatives at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview (869-2007) on Monday, October 14th from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm with parish prayers and sharing of memories taking place at 8:30pm. A service celebrating Dwight’s life will take place from Cobb’s Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, October 15th, 2013 at 11am with Father Charlie Broderick officiating.
