It is with broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at the Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility Steelworkers Lane, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Grand Etang in 1917. She was one of 16 children of the late Emilien and Julie (Chiasson) LeBlanc.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Alma issurvived by her loving children, Jerry (Judy) Yhard, Howie Centre, Julie Cummings, Howie Centre, Valerie (Paul) O’Brien, Sydney Forks, Kirk (Ann) Yhard, Sydney; her eight wonderful grandchildren, Lynda, Jason, Mark, Shane, Shelby, Candace, Ryan and Kayla; her four precious great-grandchildren, Ryan, Ayden, Faith, and Logan; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Gerald (1987) and son-in-law, Thomas Cummings (2000).
The family is very grateful to the wonderful caring staff at Harbourstone Steelworkers Lane who made Mom’s life so comfortable during her six years there. They were always rewarded with a huge smile.
Respecting Mom’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at a later date. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery.
