Formerly of Chase and Pritchard, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 24, 2013, 94 years of age, at Ridgeview Lodge in Kamloops.

Survived by children Judy Taylor of Pritchard, Bryon (Eileen) Barton of Wardlow, AB, Wendy (Bill) Hall of Sooke, B.C., Robin (Rose) Barton of Dunster, B.C., son-in-law Derwyn Taylor of Kamloops and sister-in-law Thirza Sieg of Kelowna, B.C. Fond memories are left with eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Our mother was predeceased by our father Alfred James Barton in 2001, after 63 years of marriage, parents Harold and Kitty (nee Brown) Toombs, sister Opal Russell, brothers Edward and Verdel Toombs, two year old great-grandson Miles Taylor in 2002.

Verle was an active foster parent for many years, as well as being a Tupperware dealer and later handling Sunasu Vitamins. Her recreational interests included square dancing, ballroom dancing and singing - belonging to various choirs and singing groups over the years.

The family extends thanks to Dr. Howie and all the staff at Ridgeview Lodge in Kamloops.

A Celebration of Verle's Life will be held on Saturday, October 19th, 11 a.m. at the Pritchard Community Hall.
