HICKEY, IRMA MURIEL - It is with great sadness we announce the death of Irma Muriel Hickey (Finnie), age 89, of Fredericton, NB on October 12, 2013 at Pine Grove Nursing Home. Born at Magaguadavic April 24, 1924, a daughter of the late Gordon and Elsie (Henry) Finnie and wife of the late Gordon T. Hickey. Irma was a member of St. Dunstan's Parish, Fredericton. She was an avid quilter and also enjoyed knitting and scrapbooking. She dearly loved, and was devoted to her family. Irma is survived by her children Myrna Carol-Anne Keenan (Don), Dianna Myles (John), Gordon Jr., John (Lorna), Blaine (Connie) and Dr. Andrea Hickey (Lee Faulkner); twelve grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; a brother Carvel Finnie (Patricia) and a sister-in-law Roberta Finnie. Besides her parents and husband Gordon, Irma was predeceased by two sisters Connie Bell and Phyllis Fraser; seven brothers Vernon, Otis, Howard, Cecil, Doug, Glenwood and Blake Finnie.
No visitation by request of the family. A mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Dunstan's Parish on Tuesday October 15, 2013 at 12:05pm with Father Bill Brennan as celebrant. Interment will be held in the Hermitage Cemetery. Thank you to Dr. Ann Collins, staff of 3SW of DECH, Pine Grove Nursing Home and Bayshore Home Health for their excellent care.
