Winston, who was a kind and gentle man passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Glace Bay, he was a member of Warden United Church. He was the son of the late William and Elizabeth (Brindley) Andrews.
Winston, in his early years, worked for Toronto Peterborourgh Transport, and also belong to the Teamsters union.
Winston is survived by his sister, Mary Thelma Pyke, P.E.I.; and many close friends, especially Audrey and Sherman Buckler and Jennie, Annette, also with the staff of Goldsil Jewellers of Glace Bay.
Beside his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Willena.
Winston loved music, especially Hank Williams, and played the piano and guitar. Winston adored his cats Mittins and Sabastion.
The family is very grateful to the caring staff of 4B & 4E Palliative Care at the Cape Breton regional Hospital.
Visitation for Winston will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 16, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay. Funeral services for Winston will be on Thursday at 11 a.m. in Patten Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clayton Austin officiating. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
Donations may be made to Palliative Care Unit at Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
